About Katrina

Katrina Mena Rick was born and raised in Miami, Florida to a family of crazy Cubans. She is a classically trained vocalist who specializes in contemporary styling. Having started her career at the age of 8 with the Miami Childrens Chorus, Katrina has sang on countless stages throughout Florida, the United States and Brazil. A graduate of New World School of the Arts, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Music and Jazz Performance from the prestigious University of Miami's Frost School of Music. Her passions led her to study abroad in Belo Horizonte, Brazil where she performed with the Puppa Santana Jazz Ensemble throughout the region. Katrina has held several residencies as a radio DJ, vocal coach, theater teacher, music director, jazz vocalist and singer/songwriter.

In 2011, Katrina completed her Master of Science degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. Within a few months she was hired to become a Casting Director for the Walt Disney Company's American Idol Experience. She soon started working with Disney's Music Production teams, and became an entertainment and production leader in the theme parks for several years. In 2018, she was promoted to Production Manager for Disney's Broadcast Production where she has produced content with international and domestic broadcast networks, as well as successfully led creative and technical teams to produce custom content for Disney Parks Live Entertainment shows and special events.

She sings and speaks in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
